Terms of Clearance: This approval is associated with the final rule published under RIN 0648-AS47. The agency is instructed to conduct a focused outreach campaign prior to submission of a request for extension for this ICR to validate burden estimates and elicit suggestions from the regulated community for reducing the burden of this program. The results of this campaign must be summarized in the submission.

Abstract: NMFS is requesting approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for a mandatory economic data collection program for the Crab Rationalization Program. This data collection would require person harvesting or processing of crab managed under the CR Program to submit an historical economic data report (EDR) and an annual EDR to an "independent third party data collection agent" (DCA). The DCA will collect the data from participants; furnish the data without participant identifiers to NMFS, the State of Alaska, and the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council.
