Abstract: CDC is proposing to conduct a survey of third-year medical students in order to evaluate the STD Faculty Expansion Program (FEP). Information will be collected through a one time mail survey of two groups of third-year medical students - those enrolled at the four currently funded FEP institutions and a sample of students from all other accredited U.S. medical schools. CDC will use the data to assess the effectiveness of the FEP as a means of heightening medical student awareness and training in diagnosis, management, and prevention of STDs.
