APHIS would lower trade restrictions by enabling imports of swine, swine meat, and swine genetics from the European Union to resume more quickly from areas that experience and then eradiate outbreaks of CSF. To accomplish this, it would apply a uniform set of importation requirements related to CSF to all of the original 15 Member States of the European Union, establish a classification for regions that present a low risk of introducing CSF into the US, and recognize all of the original 15 Member States as a low-risk region for CSF.
