Abstract: This project addresses the need to understand socioeconomic uses of coastal wetlands on Pacific Island. These nations are currently experiencing ecological, socioeconomic, and cultural changes ranging from global climate change to a general shift toward market economies. Despite these dynamic environments, the Pacific islands remain highly dependent on their coastal resources for subsistence as well as economic purposes.
