The proposed rule, "Financial Assurance Amendments for Materials Licensees," would increase the certification amounts for financial assurance and require certain categories of materials licensees to have a decommissioning funding plan (DFP) to assure adequate funding for decommissioning. Licensees would be required to submit an updated certification or update their DFP every 3 years.
