The Annual Trade Survey provides the only continual authoritative measure of annual wholesale sales, purchases, and year-end inventories. The expansion to this survey represent wholesale electronic markets, agents, and brokers required to accurately measure economic performance in the United States. The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) will use this information to estimate the gross national product (GDP). The electronic markets, agents and brokers will report sales, and operating expenses.
