OMB approves the requested NIH generic clearance under the following terms: packages submitted to OMB for review under this generic shall be within the scope of customer satisfaction surveys concerning the NIH Curriculum Supplements. OMB approves the two initial generic requests included with this submission at this time. In future items should be submitted and shall be reviewed on an individual basis. Each proposed collection should include a running tally of the total hours and respondents currently in use under the generic clearance and NIH should develop appropriate means to track burden totals associated with the generic clearance. OMB will consider the use of incentives for collections under this generic clearance on a case by case basis, however, OMB does not at this time approve a specific range for incentives. Proposed incentive levels must be justified e.g. through citation of appropriate peer reviewed literature, in each submission to OMB. OMB will review packages submitted under this proposal on an expedited basis, if NIH has not received a response to a proposed collection within 10 days of official submission the agency should contact OMB.
