The NSDUH (formerly the National
Household Survey on Drug Abuse) is a survey of the civilian,
noninstitutional population of the United States, age 12 and over.
The data are used to estimate the prevalence of cigarette, alcohol
and illicit drug use, and abuse of licit drugs. Results are used by
SAMHSA, ONDCP, and other Federal agencies and other researchers and
organizations to establish policy, direct program activities, and
better allocate resources.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
