Abstract: The standard for shackles and hooks (29 CFR 1915.113(b)(1) requires that all hooks for which no applicable manufacturer's recommendations are available be tested and that the employer retain a certification record. The standard on portable air receivers (29 CFR 1915.172(d) requires that portable, unfired pressure vessels be examined quarterly and subjected to a yearly hydrostatic pressure test and that a certification record be maintained.
