Abstract: Lenders contemplating providing a mortgage for a single-family property require a standard, industry-acceptable appraisal. This information supplements those standard appraisals for FHA-insured mortgages and is necessary to protect the interest of HUD, the taxpayers, and the FHA insurance fund. In addition, information is collected to ensure real estate appraiser that are qualified.
