Abstract: Proposed regulation sections 404.471 and 416.1339 will implement provisions of the Social Security Protection Act of 2004. Specifically, these new regulations mandate that fugitive felons and probation or parole violators will have their Title II/Title XVI benefits suspended. However, there is a good cause exemption for the suspension of benefits under prescribed circumstances. The respondents are fugitive felons, probation violators, and parole violators who seek a good cause exemption to the suspension of their benefits.
