Abstract: Two million women in the U.S. may unknowingly have an inherited bleeding disorder, but with propoer diagnosis, these women could avoid complications and surgeries. An important part of increasing this awareness among physicians and their patients with bleeding disorder is referral for appropriate diagnosis. federally-funded Hemophillia Treatment Centers (HTCs) are thought to be the best source for appropriate laboratory diagnosis, however, there have been concerns raised. A survey is needed to address these concerns and characterize the HTC laboratories so they can deliver the best services possible.
