Abstract: Type 2 diabetes has been termed an epidemic among African American women. African American women are more than twice as likely as white women to be diagnosed with diabetes, and two and one-half times as likely to die from complications. A CD-rom (Diabetes: Living My Best Life) has been created to serve as an innovative education and training trool on type 2 diabetes to deliver health messages to African American women. The evaluation of this tool will assist program planners in determining effective ways to assist African American women with type 2 diabetes manage their disease.
