clearance package should describe steps taken to reduce or improve
the accuracy of the 93 hour burden for the Central Collection F33.
The package should also describe efforts undertaken collaboratively
with the National Center for Education Statistics to examine the
current data elements and process for collection compared with the
NCES' National Public Education Finance Survey (NPEFS) to ensure
that all opportunities to minimize burden and reduce duplication
have been explored.

This survey provides finance data for
public school systems. The data are used to calculate the Gross
Domestic Product (GDP), to monitor the government sector of the
economy, and to formulate, develop, and review public policy.
Federal agencies, state and local governments and the private
sector use these data. The data are disseminated by the National
Center for Education Statistics because they comprise the only
source of nationwide fiscal data for public school
systems.
