The 2007 Economic Census covering the
Retail Trade and Accommodation and Food Services sectors (as
defined by the North American Industry Classification System
(NAICS)) will measure the economic activity of more than 1.7
million establish- ments. The economic census, conducted under
authority of Title 13, United States Code (USC), is the primary
source of facts about the structure and functioning of the Nation's
economy. Economic statistics serve as part of the framework for the
national accounts and provide essential information for government,
business, anad the general public.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
