Abstract: Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of H.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347 requires the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to annually report to Congress on the role of local communities in the development of agreement or contract plans through stewardship contracting. The Forest Service has contracted with the Pinchot Institute for Conservation to conduct a multi-party process to conduct a survey of active projects in order to fulfill this requirement.
