Participants in the
Federally-regulated fishery in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the
South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean are required to obtain
Federal permits under the existing permit program. NOAA needs
information from the applicants to identify fishing
vessels/participants, to properly manage the fisheries, and to
generate fishery-specific data using the observe program for the
Gulf of Mexico penaeid shrimp fishery and the royal red shrimp
fishery under the Southeast Region Permit Family of Forms.
Additionally, NMFS permit section needs to implement notary
signatures for all permit transfers to reduce or eliminate
