This collection is being returned as improperly submitted. Based on the supporting statement for the "COPS Office Monitoring Information Collections" new collection, it looks to me like there should be two separate ICs with this ICR. The supporting statement shows that there are two forms with different numbers of respondents and different times per response: -Monitoring Request for Documentation: 40 responses x 3 hours = 120 total -28 C.F.R. Part 23 Monitoring Kit: 100 responses x 2 hours = 200 total Unfortunately, in the ROCIS submission these were lumped into 1 IC, and the burden hour calculation was backed out to average 2.2858 hours per response. This inconsistency can be fixed by separating the forms into two ICs. Please resubmit the collection with two separate ICs.

The Attorney General, through the COPS Office, is required by the Public Safety Partnership and Community Policing Act of 1994 (the Act)to include a monitoring component in its programs. In addition to the general monitoring requirement established by the Act, the COPS Office must also monitor grant-funded criminal intelligence systems, as mandated by 28 C.F.R. Part 23. The COPS Office has developed the COPS Office Monitornig Information Collections to standardize and simplify its monitoring activities.
