Thank you again for facilitating the communications about the ICARIS 2 - phase 2 project. Our group spoke on Friday about next steps. Here is a summary that we would like for you to provide to John. - Thank you, Tom

John,

Thank you for providing several options to us. After considering the options you provided, we feel compelled to take the option (B) to split out the Willingness to Pay (WTP) portion of our package. We understand that this means that we will have approval to initiate the rest of the study now and that we can continue to pursue OMB approval to add the WTP portion as a pilot later. We have two requests for your office. First, please provide guidance regarding what materials we should submit in the future to support full consideration of a pilot of the WTP module with a subsample from ICARIS 2. Second, please provide a summary of the specific concerns that resulted in the full WTP study being disapproved, including the literature that was used to support these concerns. This information is necessary for us to take advantage of the review that your office provided when we develop future WTP studies and to understand why our responses to the concerns expressed over the phone were inadequate.
