This information is required of
institutions of higher education designated eligible to apply for
grants as Hispanic-Serving Institutions under Title V, Part A of
the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. This information will
be used in the evaluation process to determine whether proposed
activities are consistent with legislated activities and to
determine the dollar share of the Congressional appropriation to be
awarded to successful applicants. This grant falls under the
Streamlined Clearance...
The only noticeable change is
the increase in the number of applicants due to the increase of the
number of eligible institutions. The public burden did not go up
due to the results of the redesign of the application package to
conform to the Department's mandatory requirement of electronic
submission of most applicants now using Grants.gov. Since OMB is
demanding that all agencies divide up previously recorded burdens
into components, it appears that our burden has changed, even
though the totals remain identical.
