Memo
This is in reference to the previous terms of clearance for NSLDS: Federal Student Aid plans to begin the re-engineering of NSLDS in about one to two years. Once the requirements and design of the new system begin, Federal Student Aid estimates that the new system will not be completed or operational for several years. In the meantime, the current NSLDS will continue to collect the data. Federal Student Aid has rolled the re-engineering of NSLDS into another project entitled Data Strategy. Therefore, the new re-engineered NSLDS will not be available to be used to collect data for at least 3 years, at the earliest.
