APHIS relies on the public to report
any surveys they conduct for the Asian Longhorn Beetle (ALB) in
their local area. The reporting is done through a simple online
form that covers both sightings and nonsightings. The information
collected would be used by APHIS to pinpoint regulated areas that
have been searched for signs of the ALB infestation. An inspection
of the area would determine if the pest is indeed present and
measures would be taken to stop the beetle's spread.
This is a new collection of
information resulting in a program change of 415 hours.
