Justification for nonmaterial/non-substantive change to 1905-0167
The EIA-6A form has been updated to ask for email contact information as well as to
clarify stock questions in section IV, A, B, & C. Beginning stock, ending stocks and
adjustment of beginning stocks will be fielded. This information is readily available
from the respondents and differs from the previous information collected, which was
“stock change.” These three elements clarify that “pit inventory” data is not needed. The
EIA-6A instructions are also updated to reflect the form change. The EIA-7A form is
requesting beginning and ending stocks rather than the stock change number. The
beginning and ending stocks are readily available for respondents to provide and the
stock change is not needed. The EIA-7A instructions have also been updated to reflect
the change to the form.
