The Wetlands Division of the Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds published a notice in the Federal Register on July 11, 2006, regarding the collection of information related to wetlands state/tribal assumed programs. This notice is a renewal of an existing collection request that is scheduled to expire in November of 2006.
The information collected under the Clean Water Act Section 404 State/Tribal Assumed programs is for:
 Evaluating state/tribal 404 program assumption requests;
 Assuring that state/tribal issued permits comply with the 404 regulations including the 404(b)(1) guidelines and that the proposed projects avoid, minimize, and compensate for anticipated impacts;
 EPA oversight of the assumed programs including the annual report submitted by the State/Tribe to EPA.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
