Abstract: The Surface Transportation Board's collection of system diagram maps is required by statute. The maps, which indicate the likelihood that are particular rail line will be abandoned, are used as a planning tool by the Board and the public. Respondents are railroads.

Short Statement: As explained in the supporting statement, the decrease in requested burden hours is not due to agency discretion, but rather is due to an adjustment caused by the decrease in average annual number of respondents, as well as a decrease in the size of the rail systems of those responders.
