The Railroad Retirement Act provides
for payment of age, disability and supplemental annuities to
qualified employees. The application and related forms obtain
information about the applicant's family work history, military
service, disability benefits from other government agencies and
public or private pensions. The information is used to determine
entitlement to and the amount of the annuity applied for.

As stated in our justification
(supporting statement)a review of completed forms by RRB program
staff indicated a slight overall reduction in the amount of annual
responses received for all forms in the collection resulting in a
decrease overall for the ICR of 990 annual responses and 585 burden
hours.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
