Under the 2005 planning rule the
process for objections to plans, plan amendments, or plan revisions
provides the public 30 calendar days for pre-decisional review and
the opportunity to object to plans, plan amendments, or plan
revisions prior to approval. The Forest Service has the authority
to promulgate regulations regarding the appeals of land management
plans. The 2005 planning rule established an objection process that
the public could use prior to issuance of a final decision on a
proposed plan, plan amendment, or plan revision. The information
required is the minimum needed for persons or organizations to
explain the nature of the objection made and the reason for the
objection.
