RE: REL Regional Needs Assessment study
The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) has granted an exemption from IRB approval for the upcoming Regional Needs Survey planned as part of the Regional Educational Laboratory contract with the Institute of Education Sciences.
The NWREL IRB is satisfied that the research activities described in the study design fall in one or more of the exempt categories as stipulated in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 34, Part 97.101 (b) and Part 97.401 (b). Specifically, the study involves a survey in which individual human subjects cannot be identified, and disclosure of subject responses could not reasonably place the subjects at risk of criminal or civil liability or be damaging to the subjects' financial standing, employability, or reputation..
