Quarantined Areas (Docket No. APHIS 2007-0032) – Interim Rule and

Request for Comments

To: Margaret A. Malanoski

Desk Officer

Through: Ruth Brown

OCIO Clearance Officer

APHIS is requesting emergency OMB approval of an information collection that is needed in connection with the efforts of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to prevent the spread of citrus canker into noninfested areas of the

United States.

This interim rule is necessary on an emergency basis to address the risk associated with the interstate movement of citrus nursery stock and other regulated articles from areas quarantined for citrus canker.

The Regulatory Analysis and Development (RAD) staff is not seeking OMB paperwork approval before publication. Instead, they have used revised wording in the paperwork section, and they will publish a notice once the OMB number is issued. We are asking for OMB approval by Friday, March 23, 2007.

If you need further information regarding this request or this collection, please contact Mr. Stephen Poe, Senior Operations Officer, PPQ, at (301) 734-4387. Thank you in advance for your help with this collection.
