SUBJECT: Request for Revision of a Currently Approved Collection
This request is to revise and extend the ACF Uniform Project Description (UPD) under OMB control number 0970-0139. The UPD has been used within ACF for eleven years to issue funding opportunity announcements under authorized CFDA programs. Approval of this request is critical to ACF providing the full sixty days for application submission and adequate time for peer review due to a constrained annual grants cycle. Moreover, it allows for a more consistent competitive review that improves the selection process.
At this time, ACF has developed the resources to submit funding opportunities to Grants.gov using information technology to improve government services to citizens.
The purpose of this initiative is to streamline and simplify the Federal financial assistance procedures for ACF grant applicants.
In addition to furthering the Grants.gov initiative in the electronic distribution of application forms and the submission of applications, ACF has an active role in supporting E-Gov initiatives. Currently the ACF has been designated as a Grants Management Line of Business (GMLob) consortia lead under the OMB E-Government initiative.
