The proposed collection of information seeks to develop a better understanding of railroad suicides, and use this information to make recommendations regarding the development of suicide prevention efforts, focused on those individuals most at risk, to reduce the incidence of suicide on railroad property.
This ia a new collection of information relating to a one-time survey that the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) will be conducting on behalf of FRA/FTA. The purpose of the proposed study is to develop a better understanding of rail-related suicides in order to develop effective suicide prevention countermeasures to reduce the annual incidence of such events. An estimated 280 respondents will complete the survey's reporting requirements; a total of 5,670 annual respondents and a total annual burden of 537 hours are estimated. The proposed survey involves no recordkeeping requirements.
