The National Incident Management
System (NIMS) Compliance Assistance Support Tool (NIMSCAST) is the
premier tool utilized to(a) evaluate State, Territory, Tribal, and
local government's compliance with standards and requirements
established in the National Incident Management System and/or FEMA
NIMS Integration Center, (b) determine eligibility for Federal
preparedness assistance, and (c) strengthen incident management
programs at the department, agency, or jurisdiction level.
The previous OMB burden hours
was estimated to be 14,505, which included 3 hours per response for
the State, local and tribal governments. A program change of the
burden calculation is submitted per the increased number of
questions required of the State and Territory metrics, increasing
hour burden response from 3 hours to 5 hours. The NIMSCAST is being
expanded to measure the FY 2007 NIMS Compliance Metrics instead of
the Legacy NIMSCAST survey.
