Abstract: PrepCAST is a collection instrument that will collect preparedness information at the State, Local and Tribal Nation jurisdiction level. It also collects National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance information. It is being deployed to eliminate the redundant data calls on National Preparedness to reduce the burden on respondents. Ultimately the collection will provide insight into the overall preparedness level of the Nation.

Short Statement: The burden hours for the NIMSCAST module of the PrepCAST collection tool have increased due to the addition of questions added to allow the tool to measure the 11 new NIMS implementation Activities. The burden hours for the SPR reflect the addition of this collection tool and its associated burden hours to the PrepCAST collection and were not part at the time of the last OMB approval. There has also been an increase in the number of State respondents to this collection.
