The Evaluation of Reading Comprehension Interventions sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences. Many of the nation’s children struggle with comprehending complex texts and other reading materials that are used in the upper elementary grades. This is especially true of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The interventions being evaluated are designed to teach reading comprehension strategies to fifth-grade students in the content areas of science and social studies. The revision being requested is for use of data collection forms (teacher survey and school records collection) for the second year of a two-year evaluation of reading comprehension interventions.
