Abstract: Pipeline safety regulations require hazardous liquid pipeline operators to use American Petroleum Institute 1130 in operating, maintaining, and testing their existing software-based leak detection systems. API 1130 advances safety by providing for rapid detection of a rupture in they pipeline system.
