HUD has recently undertaken efforts to modernize programs and processes in order to maintain a strong lending position with unserved and underserved borrowers. This information collection will serve to evaluate the level of satisfaction customers have with these new initiatives. The sample will consist of FHA originating lenders with a production level of at least 38 loans for FY 2005.

The overall purpose of this data collection is to understand lender response to recent initiatives undertaken by FHA. There are four layers of questions asked in the survey with regard to these changes in products or procedures: awareness, understanding, use, and satisfaction. The first two layers of questions are concerned with awareness and understanding and thus test the success of FHAÂs industry rollout and communication approaches. The last two layers, use and satisfaction, test the market acceptance of and satisfaction with the changes to product or process.
