Forms EIA-63A and EIA-63B collect data
on the manufacture, shipment, and importation of solar thermal
collectors and photovoltaic modules/cells. The data are used by the
private sector, the renewable energy industry, the DOE, and other
government agencies. Respondents are U.S. companies that
manufactured, shipped, and/or imported solar thermal collectors
and/or photovoltaic modules and cells. Form EIA-902 collects data
on domestic geothermal heat pump industry from geothermal heat pump
manufacturers. The economics of geothermal heat pumps have improved
in recent years and are more competitive with conventional heating,
cooling, and water heating systems. The data will be disseminated
for DOE, the heat pump industry, and the public.
The burden increased because
more elements were added to the Forms EIA-63A&63B as well as
adding form EIA-902 to this ICR, previously under a different OMB
number.
