Section 90.155 provides that a period no longer than 12 months may be granted to local government entities to place their stations in operation on a case-by-case basis upon a showing of need. This rule provides flexibility to state and local governments. The FCC is revising this ICR due to two rulemakings (FCC 04-166 and 06-110) which added Multilateration LMS EA-licensees and DSRCS (Dedicated Short Range Communications Service) to this rule section and added additional reporting requirements for those licensees.
