Trainet will provide a single,
Agency-wide standard information management system for USAID
training activities. TraiNet enables the electronic sharing of
information that supports USAID with a systamatic data collection
vehicle for all training programs that will generate information
consolidated for Congressional, OMB, and other required Federal
reporting.
The current inventory estimate
of 1,914 hours is based on the actual volume of responses collected
by participating entities during FY 2006. Prior inventory hours
where estimated based on collected U.S. training levels from FY
1996. Training levels have declined from a decade ago. The number
of U.S. participants has declined sharply from 17,629 in FY 1995 to
4,589 in FY 2006. The U.S. participant decline has been partially
(but not completely) offset by the increase in reported Third
Country and In Country training. Therefore, the overall net result
is a difference of 706 less total burden hours from the numbers
reported in the original submission.
