Abstract: On August 15, 2007, the FCC adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Amendments of Service and Eligibility Rules for FM Broadcast Translator Stations, MB Docket 07-172, FCC 07-144. The proposed rule changes would allow AM stations to use FM translator stations to rebroadcast the AM signal locally. FCC Form 345 is required when applying for authority for an assignment of a broadcast license or construction permit or for consent to transfer of control for a low power television station, or FM or TV translator station. The data is used by FCC staff to determine if applicants meet basic statutory requirements to operate stations.
