Abstract: The Labor Management Relations Act of 1947 requires a party to a collective bargaining agreement to give notice to FMCS, the applicable state agency and the other party of a desire terminate or modify the agreement. FMCS uses this information to offer the parties mediation services in order to prevent or minimize labor disputes arising from collective bargaining.
