Short Statement: The reduction occurred, because EBSA updated the model it uses for these burden calculations and used updated estimates of the number of plans affected by the regulation. Reduction also due to compliance with requirements of Section 1103(b) of the Pension Protection Act of 2006, which required a simplified reporting alternative for certain small plans.
