The Renewable Energy Production
Incentive is a cash payment to qualified renewable facilities for
renewable energy that is generated and sold to end users. Eligible
electric production facilities include not-for-profit electrical
cooperatives; public utilities; state governments; Commonwealths;
territories of the United States; the District of Columbia; Indian
tribal governments, or a political subdivision thereof; or Native
Corporations that sell the facility's electricity. Information is
used to determine: a) eligibility for payment and b) amount of
payment. Information ensures proper use of public funds.
