HINTS is intended to be a biennial, cross-sectional probability survey of the U.S. civilian adult population. The purpose of funding a national survey to assess health communication processes is to provide communication researchers with unbiased population estimates of the prevalence of cancer-relevant knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.
