Report of Assets and Liabilities of U.S. Branches and Agencies of Foreign Banks; Report of Assets and Liabilities of Non-U.S. Branches That Are Managed or Controlled by a U.S. Branch or Agency of a Fo
The FFIEC requires U.S. branches and agencies of foreign banks to provide balance sheet information quarterly on this interagency report to fulfill the supervisory and regulatory reporting requirements of the International Banking Act of 1978. The Federal Reserve also uses the data to augment the bank credit, loan, and deposit information needed for monetary policy purposes.
The current estimated annual reporting burden for the FFIEC 002 is 24,024 hours. The proposal would add several new data items to the FFIEC 002 and revise certain existing data items. The proposal would produce a net increase in reporting burden of two hours and fifteen minutes. The agencies estimate the total proposed annual reporting burden to be 27,970 hours, an increase of 2,376 hours (program change).
The agencies are also proposing to combine the FFIEC 002 and FFIEC 002S under one OMB control number, 7100-0032. Therefore, the current estimated annual reporting burden for the FFIEC 002S is 1,560 hours (agency estimate).
