The survey is used to obtain fiscal year data on expenditures relating to biomedical research and development awards and to update and re base the BRDPI. Data are obtained from organizations which are recipients of biomedical research and development awards from the National Institutes of Health.
The reduction in burden is due to two factors: (1)a change in the methodology for computing the overall burden, and (2) respondents have become more familiar with the survey instrument, thus reducing the time needed to complete the survey form.
