Section 204 of the Magnuson-Stevens
Fishery Conservation and Management Act provides for the issuance
of fishing permits to foreign vessels. The information contained in
applications to fish is needed by NOAA to evaluate and act on
applications for permits.

Compared to the prior approval,
the reduction of 5 vessels, 5 responses, 4 hours and $1,722
reflects a reduction in the level of foreign fishing activity
occurring in the EEZ. Note: ROCIS shows a cost decrease of $2,122,
as when the ICR was imported into ROCIS, the rounded off cost of
$5,000 was used, rather than $4,600.
