All importers of Canadian softwood
lumber will need a license prior to completing customs entry
documentation upon import. The license will be available online and
automatically generated from a Department of Commerce website with
a fax option.
This emergency is
requested because ITA/Office of Import Administration has to begin
the licensing process for Canadian softwood lumber in order to
monitor compliance of the Softwood Lumber Agreement 2006.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
