The respondents operate tankers in
international trade and provide the Maritime Administration with
fleet inventory information. The agency uses the information to
monitor the adequacy of the number of tankers to support deployment
of U.S. military forces in defense or other contigency
operations.

Due to agency discretion, the
Maritime Administration increased the burden of this information
collection to capture fleet inventory information needed to monitor
the adequacy of the number of tankers to support deployment of U.S.
military forces in defense of other contingency operations.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
