Application for benefits (ban) used to
determine eligibility and credit worthiness of business
owners/businesses who seek Federal assistance in a declared
disaster. Respondents are disaster business owners seeking disaster
assistance.
This request is
necessary so that SBA can have approval to roll-out the "Electronic
Loan Application" (ELA) capability which was slated for May 31,
2008. The ELA will result in less data input errors, which will
speed up the decision process for the disaster victim creating a
shorter timeframe for obtaining needed funds.
Although listed as program
changes because of the shuffling of ICs with ROCIS, the burden
reduction is due to the substantial decrease in disaster activity
and corresponding decrease in respondents.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
The following is a summary of the topics, regarding
the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:
(i) Why the information is being collected;
(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
If you are unable to certify compliance with any of
